Time is the main factor...  Technology is  another..    There was a time when everyone were together in a single house with the eldest being the Head and everyone obeying his orders.He was the Moothapillai or Karanavar ..The whole expenditure was looked after by him and there were paddy coconuts, tamarind plantain fruits and domestic vegetables grown in the cultivable land .         Education brought  better job opportunities and most of them  were  governent jobs.   Transfer of job made people move  from their native  villages.
